This is what’s happening to your WhatsApp

In 2014, Facebook acquired WhatsApp to the tune of $ 19 billion. This was seen as the start of the integration of Facebook and the world’s largest messaging app. It was also the beginning of trying to monetize the app by Facebook. It looks like finally Facebook has found a way to make the chums.
As of yesterday, WhatsApp has been upgrading users privacy settings to enable them share more data with Facebook. Once users accept the new T& Cs, their data, which includes mobile Numbers, will be shared with Facebook. This is intended to personalize the ads and suggestions that appear on a user’s timeline based on their activities on WhatsApp.
WhatsApp was quick to reassure users that messages remain encrypted and their privacy will remain protected. Do not be alarmed or wonder why WhatsApp is seeking to upgrade your privacy settings if you see this kind of a message on your WhatsApp.
